 About UsOur aims are simple, to promote the Canterbury, Whitstable and Herne Bay area, its commerce, culture and people. The Around Canterbury Web site is created and managed by Canterbury Web Services. CWS has been creating web sites since 1996 with an emphasis on working in the local area for local organisations and business. The original Cantweb site was the first in the area to list information of use to locals and visitors. We've always hosted local community sites without charge, and will continue to do so. Our sites are intended to load quickly and, from the beginning, we have sought to give control of the web site content to the people who commission them. There is now a term for this - 'Content Management', most of our sites have some system that allows the owner of the site to maintain its content. The Around Canterbury site is a good example of our work. There are a considerable number of pages 'behind the scenes' to allow content control. Content is stored in a database, allowing ordered presentation, content searching, and most importantly, easy update. Anyone can have a free listing on Around Canterbury, you just need to give us your details using simple forms. In general, you'll find the form for new entries linked from the top right hand corner of each page. Because of the nature of this site, Canterbury Web Services Limited is not responsible for the accuracy of any listing or advert on the site. We are often told when a business starts, we are never told when it goes away. If you find an inaccurate listing, please let us know and we will investigate and correct it.
